Birfield Ring for Suzuki Samurai by Spidertrax Off-RoadThe original "birfield fix" for the front Samurai axles. These high tolerance heat treated chromoly rings press fit over the OEM birfield joints. This prevents the birfield joint from grenading or exploding under high torque, a common problem especially with front lockers installed. There is no machining required on the OEM birfield to install this ring.

A standard "open" differential always divides distributed torque evenly. So if one wheel slips (now receiving low torque), the other wheel receives the same low torque.
