Superior Ring and Pinion Gears

Wrangler TJ 1997-2006

If your Wrangler TJ's tires are larger than stock, you have probably noticed a loss of performance. Regain it, and more with these performance gears from Superior Axle and Gear. The Wrangler TJ came standard with a Model 30 front axle and a Model 35 rear axle. On newer Wrangler TJs, 3.07:1 gear ratios were "standard" with other options available. When changing from lower gear ratios, it is often necessary to change the gear case. If you are unsure of your current gear ratio, check with your dealership or give our knowledgeable sales staff a call. Have your VIN number handy.

The "Rubicon" model came with Model 44 axles front end rear with factory lockers and 4.11:1 gear ratios. The "Rubicon" gear sets listed below are designed to work with the factory locker.

On a four wheel drive vehicle, front and rear gear ratio's MUST be matched!!!

Many replacement parts are required when installing new gears. Superior installation kits are a sure way to have all the highest quality parts you need. Professional installation is required for all gear changes.

Model 30 Front Axle (non-Rubicon)

* When Changing from a 3.54:1 or lower gear ratio, case MUST be changed.

Model 35 Rear Axle (non-Rubicon)

* When Changing from a 3.31:1 or lower gear ratio, case MUST be changed.
