Black Diamond 3 Inch Lift Kits
2007, 2008, 2009 Wrangler JK (2 Door)
2007, 2008, 2009 Wrangler JK Unlimited (4 Door)
|
|
The Wrangler JK uses 22 different factory coil springs, each with a slightly different rate, dictated by how the JK is equipped. New Black Diamond front / rear coils provide the lift. The largest jump in spring rate is from the 2 to 4 door model so we offer a heavier rated rear spring for the 4 Door. Lift height can vary slightly (up to 3/8") depending on your factory spring rate. You can use rear 4 Door coils on your 2 Door to offset extra weight.
As the Wrangler JK is raised, track bar angle increases and when lift height exceeds 2", bar length becomes an issue. Bar bind causes the chassis and axle to continuously "tug" against each other resulting in uneven ride height (side-to-side) and "roll and yaw". Front correction is accomplished via a new adjustable track bar. This route is preferred, as opposed to using a relocation bracket, since the bar's arc of travel must remain in sync with the drag link's arc of travel or steering wheel "kick" will result.
The stock JK has no provisions for caster angle realignment, which is required at this lift height, so Black Diamond provides new alignment cams. Note that factory caster angle can vary substantially from one JK to the next, so it is possible that the furnished alignment cams may not yield sufficient caster on some JK's. In these cases optional longer axle-to-frame lower links must be used, which are available in fixed-length or XT Swivel Link versions.

Standard Short Arm 3 Inch Suspension Lift
This 3” lift kit is available with or without Black Diamond AT/Series, Black Diamond AT (All Terrain) shocks are engineered for performance and stability with features like double arc-welded eyelets, polyurethane bushings and large 5/8" chrome rods. A black polyurethane boot, combined with a weather resistant enamel finish, make the AT tough on the outside as well. XT/Series co-designed by Bilstein, the Black Diamond Xtreme Terrain series shocks perform exceptionally both on and off-road. Oil foam leads to shock fade. The XT virtually eliminates the possibility of foaming with a patented "floating" piston that divides the high-pressure Nitrogen gas and shock oil, or XTR Series shocks. Black Diamond’s latest shock, the XTR is a premium monotube high-pressure gas shock that features a remote oil reservoir. This design is the most effective at dissipating performance-killing heat; the remote reservoir provides increased oil capacity to further reduce operation temperatures. Like the XT, the shock body is silver Zinc plated, plus it has a clear powder topcoat for exceptional appearance and finish life. Factory shocks MUST be replaced.

3 Inch Lift Kit Optional Add-ons
Adjustable Rear Track Bar for 3”-4” Lift Kits by Black Diamond
As the Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited is raised, track bar angle increases, and when lift height exceeds 2”, bar length becomes an issue. Bar bind causes the frame and axle to continuously “tug” against each other resulting in uneven ride height (side to side), chassis / frame misalignment and “roll and yaw.” Black Diamonds new adjustable front / rear track bars correct all bar related issues by allowing you to “dial-in” proper bar length which can differ slightly from one Jeep Wrangler JK to the next. They are constructed of 1.25” OD x .300” wall thickness DOM tubing for superior strength. Note: Adjustable Front Track Bar is included with all Black Diamond 3” lift kits. |

Front Sway Bar Quick Disconnects for 3”-4” Lift Kits by Black Diamond
Black Diamond’s front sway bar quick disconnects give a typical Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited a whopping 5” of additional wheel travel. Black Diamond threaded disconnects have been favorites of Wrangler owners for decades. The JK units feature factory type upper ends for proper bind-free operation and an extended service life. Simply pull the pin, unscrew it, pivot it upward, strap it up and go! No tools, no rattles, no alignment issues and no hassles. Not included in any lift system. Do not operate the vehicle on-road with the sway bar disconnected.
Note that quick disconnects are not needed on Jeep Wrangler JKs factory equipped with the front electronic sway bar disconnect. Additionally, we do not offer or recommend rear sway bar disconnects; the JK performs better off-road with the rear bar connected.

Xtreme Terrain Swivel Links by Black Diamond
The XT Arm design has many advantages over other types of replacement links. The most common competitors’ links are one-piece units with some type of pivoting eye bushing (like a Heim joint). The XT’s primary advantages are: a longer service life, quiet operation, less vibration and shock load transmitted from axle to chassis, and link length is adjustable so driveline and steering alignment can be dialed-in. Links feature factory type, steel encased rubber bushings at the frame ends, for durability, flexibility and quiet operation, and high density, greasable urethane bushings at the axle ends for improved control. Lower links constructed of 2½” OD x .188” wall thickness DOM tubing.

Steering Stabilizer Kit 2 " to 4" Lift by Black Diamond
A steering stabilizer is basically a shock absorber for your steering system. It allows unrestricted gradual movement, but resists sudden shock. Stabilizers also combat other forces that induce tire shimmy, such as larger / heavier tires and wheels, and slack in your suspension and steering systems that occurs from normal wear. Some vehicles are factory equipped with a stabilizer, but like most stock shocks, they are barely adequate. Look for leakage where the shaft meets the cylinder body.
