If you change to a different tire size from the factory then you will alter your speedometer reading and mileage. Make an easy change to a different Speedometer Gear, using the chart below you can find your proper tire size and match it with your Axle Gear Ratio to find which Speedo Gear you will need. They are color coded for easy recognition and are very easy to install at the rear of your transfer case tail housing.

Note: to figure out if your t-case requires the short (2.2") or the long (4.3") shaft gear we need to look at the connection. If you have the newer electronic type of connection at the t-case where the speedo gear is you will have the short shaft (1993-2006 Wrangler TJ, YJ, Cherokee XJ, Grand Cherokee ZJ). If you have a cable type connection at the t-case where your speedo gear is you will have the long shaft (1991-1993 Wrangler YJ, Cherokee XJ). Note: Not compatible with 2003-2006 Wrangler TJ Rubicon Models.

It is recommeded to replace the O-Ring Gasket Part # 6035709 when changing your speedometer gear.
